AWS Whitepapers
Module 04 focuses on EC2 compute fundamentals using the Amazon EC2 User Guide, Amazon EBS User Guide, and Amazon EC2 Auto Scaling User Guide as primary references. There are no AWS whitepapers dedicated specifically to introductory EC2 compute topics. For broader compute architecture guidance, students will encounter relevant whitepapers in later modules covering reliability (Module 16) and the Well-Architected Framework (Module 17).

AWS Architecture References
No specific architecture references for this module. EC2 instances are a foundational building block that appears in nearly every AWS reference architecture. Students will work with EC2-based architecture patterns in later modules when they add load balancers (Module 07), deploy containerized applications (Module 10), and design multi-tier architectures (Module 18).
